Anchor Kids exists to create safe, engaging spaces where children can explore faith, build friendships, and discover that they are deeply loved by God.
We believe it’s because they’re kids—not in spite of it—that they’re uniquely equipped to know God in personal and powerful ways. Our hope is that every child feels seen, known, and valued—and even teaches us something about what it means to follow Jesus with joy and curiosity.
Sunday Mornings at Anchor Kids
Anchor Kids is available for birth through 4th grade. Kids will spend time playing, learning, creating, and connecting in age-appropriate classrooms led by background-checked volunteers who care deeply about each child’s spiritual journey.
Upper Elementary (Grades 1-4)
Kids spend time building friendships, talking about their week, and sharing prayer requests. Through a mix of storytelling, singing, games, and conversation, they engage with Scripture in a way that helps them ask big questions and build real faith.
Lower Elementary (Ages 3–Kindergarten)
The Lower Elementary classroom incorporates similar elements to that of Upper but includes more play time. Kids learn about God’s love through Bible stories, songs, play, and age-appropriate discussion. The focus is helping kids begin to understand who God is and how much He cares for them.
Nursery (Ages 0-3)
Our littlest ones enjoy a warm, playful environment where they can feel safe and loved. The Nursery classroom is focused mostly on play with a short story that introduces a Bible story or biblical truth and a song or two to familiarize them with one of the ways we worship at church.
FAQs
What does check-in & safety look like?
When you arrive, head to the Anchor Kids check-in table near the sanctuary. First-time families can fill out a nametag with important info (like allergies), and you’ll receive a tear-off pickup tag to bring back at the end of service.
Regular attenders can use the tablets to check in quickly using the last 4 digits of your phone number.
Nursery-aged children can be dropped off before service.
Kids in Lower and Upper Elementary start in the sanctuary and will be dismissed before the message.
All Anchor Kids volunteers are nationally background checked and trained in creating safe, welcoming environments.
How do I pick up my child?
At the end of service, return to your child’s classroom with your pickup tag. If your child is in the nursery, return your buzzer as well.
Do I need to bring a diaper bag? Will you change diapers?
No need to bring anything—we’ve got water and snacks covered. We don’t change diapers, but each parent receives a buzzer and will be alerted if their child needs a diaper change or bathroom help.
Is there a space for nursing or taking a break with my child?
Yes! Go through the door at the front of the sanctuary and downstairs. The second door on the left is our nursing/sensory room—a quiet space with toys and a comfy chair. A changing table is also located at the bottom of the stairs.
Will you let me know if my child needs me during the service?
Absolutely! Just let us know if there’s anything specific you’d like us to be aware of. Otherwise, our teachers will use the buzzer system if your child needs assistance or isn’t settling in.
